Benediction - By Charmaine Candappa

I sense the Autumn’s smell of sweet decay
And here the winter sparrow’s song.
I see the mountains across the trail
Veiled in snowy mist against the darkened sky.
The rain and lightning join together for a few hours.
I witness the trembling leaves and flowers in the rain
As I sip my sweetened hot tea in bed.
