CameraLK, Sri Lanka’s leading camera retail giant and Official Sony Distributor in Sri Lanka, unveiled the highly anticipated Sony Alpha a7R VI and FE 100-400mm F4.5 GM OSS lens at a landmark regional launch event held in Sri Lanka. The event marked a historic milestone for the country’s photography and videography industry, as Sri Lanka was chosen to host the premier regional launch of the groundbreaking new imaging technology, further cementing the nation’s growing reputation within the global creative community.

The exclusive launch event brought together some of Sri Lanka’s leading photographers, videographers, content creators, and visual storytellers for an immersive evening celebrating creativity, innovation, and the future of imaging technology. Organized by CameraLK, the event showcased Sony’s latest advancements in camera engineering while highlighting the rapid evolution and growing potential of Sri Lanka’s creative industry.

Adding further prestige to the occasion was the presence of a distinguished delegation from Sony Headquarters in Japan, including Koji Sekiguchi – Head of Consumer Imaging Business, Satoru Yamagiwa – Senior Camera Marketing Officer, Masaki Yamada – Product Planning Leader for the Alpha a7R VI, Tatsuru Kikuoka – Product Planning Leader for the FE 100-400mm F4.5 GM OSS, and Masakazu Yamagishi – Lens Product Engineer Specialist. Their participation transformed the event into a truly global imaging summit, creating a rare opportunity for Sri Lankan creators to directly engage with the minds behind Sony’s latest innovations.

The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric as attendees transitioned from the grand unveiling to specially curated experiential zones designed to showcase the capabilities of the new equipment. A jungle-themed live model setup enabled photographers to experience the Alpha a7R VI’s remarkable resolution, speed, and advanced color science firsthand, while a dedicated wildlife gallery highlighted the exceptional optical performance and resolving power of Sony’s FE 100-400mm F4.5 GM OSS lens. The interactive hands-on sessions generated tremendous excitement among professionals and enthusiasts eager to test Sony’s latest imaging technology.

Speaking about the launch, Anushka Gunasinghe, Managing Director of CameraLK, stated: “We are incredibly proud that Sri Lanka was chosen to host the premier regional launch of the Sony Alpha a7R VI. This is not only a milestone for CameraLK, but also a proud moment for the entire Sri Lankan photography community. The introduction of this next-generation imaging technology reflects our continued commitment to bringing world-class innovation, expertise, and experiences to local creators and professionals.”

Founded in 2010, CameraLK has rapidly grown to become South Asia’s largest camera retail and online store. Celebrated for its knowledgeable imaging experts, outstanding customer service, and competitive pricing, CameraLK carries over 5,000 products from major manufacturers, including Sony.
