The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulma (ACJU), the clergy body of Islamic scholars, yesterday, called upon all Sri Lankans to join His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith in condemning the barbaric suicidal terror attacks that took place on Easter Sunday on April 21, 2019.

ACJU General Secretary, Ash Shaikh M. Arkam Nooramith yesterday said: “We also extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives and those who were injured, and we pray to the Almighty for all those who are suffering due to the loss of their loved ones.”

“May they be blessed with solace and compensated with all forms of good fortune and direction in life.

“We sincerely pray that the real perpetrators and masterminds should be identified and dealt with by the law. And justice should be meted out”.

ACJU has also requested Muslims to supplicate in this holy month of Ramadhaan for the families of all those who lost their lives and for our Nation to Heal and be United.

Meanwhile, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith yesterday expressed concern that the authorities had not been able to uncover who was actually behind these attacks even after the lapse of two years.

“It is a clear fact that Zahran Hashim blew himself up not in a place with one religious group was present but in a place where the people of all faiths were present.

“We have to find out why he did not blast himself inside a church but chose to do so inside a hotel killing not only Catholics and Christian but so many others, including Muslims and Malays.”
