elanka logo

Dear Readers of Elanka, Australia & all over the world.

I wonder if you noted eLanka’s new logo in the recent newsletter.

Excellent design.

I applaud eLanka’s project team for creating the poignant image.

Oil Lamp in the Centre

flanked by the two respective national flags.

Symbolic of a Bridge, assimilation, fellowship, two cultures , one a rich very ancient traditional South Asian culture and the other relatively new. Lighting the the World, a gentle caring touch of the minds  and hearts of all Sri Lankans & Australians.

One of serving humanity without  premeditated expectations.

Instantly  Capt Elmo ( Blue Skies) Jayewardene,’s  ethos came to mind. Quote

” Far better to light a candle, rather than curse the darkness”

Elmo’s Candle is somewhat similar to eLanka’s Oil Lamp, except the word ‘Poor’.

PS

CandleAid: A shining light for those in need, the poor.
