Lalith Kotelawala (84) Former Chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated and Founding Chairman of Seylan Bank, Deshamanya Deshabandu Lalith Kotelawala passed away at a private hospital in Colombo on October 21, 2023. Husband of Sicille. He was the son of Justin and Millicent Kotelawala.
Funeral was at Kanatte.
Roy Nihal Cooray passed away in Torrance, Ca. on October 23, 2023. Husband of Valerie, father of Dilky (Anand Cornelio) and Reshan (Amali Jayasinghe) and grandfather of Devan, Kai, Jai, and Diyani. Services
were held at Nativity Catholic Church in Torrance, Ca. on November 4, 2023.
Felix Anthony Perumal (88) (Chairman Vigilant Security and Investigation Services). Husband of late Chitra, father of Surani, Roshni and Mario, father-in-law of Michael De Silva and Nedra, grandfather of Jannik and Tehanee, Keshia and Rashmika. Tehra and Anaya, son of late Aloy and late Therese, brother of Vilma Navaratnam, Inez Panambalana, Evan and Walter (all decd.), Jean Dharmarathne and Bryan. Burial was on October 6th at General Cemetery, Kanatte.

Remains will lie at Barney Raymonds Funeral Parlour in Borella on Sunday, November 12th from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Cortege leaves the Parlour at 2 p.m. on the same day, for burial at the General Cemetery, Borella (Roman Catholic section). |

Jalapeno and Shrimp Salad
Ingredients
- 1 iceberg lettuce, separated into leaves,
- or assorted leaves
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 12 ounces cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped green beans
- 1/2 cup chopped cooked carrots
- 1/2 cucumber, about 4 ounces chopped
- 2 hard- cooked eggs coarsely chopped
- 1 drained pickled jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
- salt
Method
1.Line a large salad bowl or platter with the lettuce
leaves. Stir together the mayonnaise and sour cream
and set aside.
2.Combine the shrimp, beans, carrot, cucumber, eggs and
jalapeno, in a separate bowl. Season with salt.
3.Add the mayonnaise and sour cream mixture to the
shrimp, folding it very gently, so that all the ingredients
are well mixed and coated with the dressing. Pile the
mixture into the lined salad bowl or arrange
attractively on the platter and serve with salt.
