Hornsby Shire to showcase cultures from around the world at Taste of Harmony

The flavours, sounds and traditions of communities from around the world will come together this September when Hornsby Shire Council presents Taste of Harmony, a free cultural festival celebrating the diversity that makes the Shire such a vibrant place to live, work and visit.
Held on Saturday 19 September from 11am to 8pm at the Hornsby Park Gardens outside the Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Centre, the event will feature a full day of international food, performances, workshops and family-friendly activities.

Visitors can enjoy a culinary journey across the globe, with food vendors serving South Indian, Middle Eastern, German, Malaysian, Southern American, Northern Chinese, Korean and Taiwanese cuisine.
The entertainment program will showcase performances celebrating cultures from India, Iran, South America, Africa, Brazil, Korea, China and more, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the day.
Families can also take part in free cultural workshops, enjoy face painting and explore a range of activities for children.

Hornsby Shire Mayor Warren Waddell said the festival is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to come together, connect and learn about the many cultures that enrich the local community.
“Taste of Harmony is a chance to celebrate the traditions, stories, music and flavours that help shape our community, while bringing people together in a fun and welcoming environment,” Mayor Waddell said.

“Whether you’re discovering a new cuisine, watching a performance from another culture or simply enjoying a day out with family and friends, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
Taste of Harmony forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusion, cultural understanding and community connection across Hornsby Shire. The festival will be held from 11am to 8pm on Saturday 19 September at the Hornsby Park Gardens, outside the Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Centre. Entry is free.

Funding for this project has been provided by the NSW Government.
