Isle with The Good Bad and Ugly – By Oscar Fernando

Isle with The Good Bad and Ugly – By Oscar Fernando

Tale of an Isle in a tapestry of the Good Bad and Ugly

A Pearl nestling on the Indian Ocean floating peacefully

With covetous eyes and Gun Culture to the fore

Colonized the Beauty-disgruntling Native[H1]  Folk and Lore

Bowing to the superior power of the gun

Natives retreated disgruntled but with reticence

Bided time in Meditation-more superior-to the Gun

Each batch of the Colonizers being dismissed One by One

Last of them though ugly-did good to further Beautify

Could have done with gradual revolution in Industry!

Freedom thwarted-they bided to get that release

Yes-release they did but was unlike in Born Free

Parrot uncaged of a sudden-now unable find feet

Natives struggled and still struggles to find feet

What atrocities done to make this Pearl so Naughty

We all know it happened-why rake up in folly

With all that’s happened we now have the Diamond Jubilee

Of Folly after Folly sinking this Pearl to Bankruptcy

Realize The Folly-make this opportune moment

To get together-under One Head to part with Folly and Cease the Moment
