You would have heard much about Sri Lanka in 2022; only some of it would have been good. This country went through a turbulent period of political upheaval, with critical shortages of food, fuel and electricity, and many travel plans had to be cancelled because of it.

But today, the scenario is more optimistic, with no food, fuel and electricity shortages.

Sri Lanka now attracts over 100,000 monthly tourists, and the future is more positive. All-star hotels are fully booked for the December season, and a beneficial harvest is anticipated.

This is great news for Sri Lanka, the economy, and potential first and repeat visitors. Those who love this country can support it through tourism; the experience is the same as it always was.

The food is still incredible, the cultural sites excellent, and the likes of Galle and Kandy as charming as they ever were. Within a day, you could visit places from a hot city like Colombo to mildly mid-country like Kandy or feel the chilly cold climate as in Nuwara Eliya, in the hills.
