It was fantastic to see Australian DJ and producer Josh Fawaz take to the stage in Sydney as the supporting act for international superstar Jason Derulo, as part of The Last Dance World Tour at Afterpay Arena on Saturday, 19 September 2026. Ticketek listed Josh as the tour support, with his Sydney performance preceding Jason Derulo’s headline show.
At eLanka, we are proud to see Australian talent being given the opportunity to perform alongside an international artist of Jason Derulo’s calibre — and Josh certainly did not disappoint the Sydney crowd. His energetic DJ set provided a great opening to the evening and helped set the atmosphere for the spectacular show that followed.
Josh Fawaz is an Australian DJ and electronic music producer who has been releasing music since the mid-2010s. His sound combines deep house, dance and UK garage influences, often reimagining familiar songs for a contemporary dance audience.
His career reached a new level in 2026 with his reworking of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” The track reached No. 1 on Australian radio airplay, while also achieving significant international exposure. Official venue information for Jason Derulo’s Australian tour notes that the release also reached No. 1 on the global iTunes Electronic chart and No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
Interestingly, Jason Derulo himself had noticed Josh’s work before selecting him for the tour. Speaking ahead of the Australian shows, Derulo said Fawaz caught his attention through his reworkings of Like a Prayer and Sexual Healing, saying he felt Josh had talent and that it would be great to have an Australian artist opening the shows.
For Josh Fawaz, performing in front of a major Sydney audience alongside an established international artist represents another significant step in what has already been a remarkable year.
