Mustafizur Rahman to Join Melbourne Renegades for BBL|16
Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will play in the Big Bash League for the first time after signing with the Melbourne Renegades for BBL|16.
Known as “The Fizz”, Mustafizur has taken more than 400 T20 wickets around the world and is one of Bangladesh’s most successful white-ball bowlers.
To celebrate his arrival, the Renegades have launched “The Fizz Bay” at the MCG for matches on 1 January and 16 January. The initiative aims to bring together Melbourne’s Bangladeshi community to support one of the country’s favourite cricketers.
The first 200 family tickets purchased with the promo code FIZZBAY will receive a 50 per cent discount.
Mustafizur said he was excited to join the Renegades and experience the BBL for the first time.
“I am looking forward to playing in the BBL for the first time with the Melbourne Renegades. It will be special to play at the MCG and I’m excited to join my teammates and contribute to the team.”
Renegades Head Coach Luke Ronchi said Mustafizur’s experience and wicket-taking ability would be a valuable addition to the squad.
Mustafizur will join the Renegades following the completion of his ILT20 commitments.
