The BBL|15 season will begin Sunday, December 14 when Pakistani superstar Babar Azam is set to make his Big Bash League debut for the Sydney Sixers against the Scorchers at Optus Stadium.

Every club will host a home match inside the competition’s first 10 days, highlighted by a grand final rematch between the Hurricanes and Thunder at Ninja Stadium on December 16, before the Sydney Smash at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday, December 20.

Sydney and Perth also become the focal point for the Boxing Day BBL double header, with the Sixers and Stars facing off at the SCG before the Scorchers and Hurricanes go head-to-head at Optus Stadium.

The Adelaide Strikers will welcome the Heat for their annual New Year’s Eve celebration, before 2026 starts in style with a New Year’s Day double header – first, the Renegades welcome the Sixers to Marvel Stadium, before the Hurricanes take on the Scorchers in Hobart.

The celebrations will continue at the Gabba on Friday, January 2 when the Heat host their annual New Year game against the Stars.

Melbourne Stars and Renegades will also face off in their hotly anticipated Derbies in the New Year, with a 6:05pm start time locked in for an MCG blockbuster on Sunday, January 4.

A mouth-watering final week of regular season matches could have major implications ahead of the Finals and feature some of Australia’s biggest names.

Four clubs will each host matches outside their primary venues – the Renegades will again begin their season at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong, the Sixers will return to C.ex Coffs International Stadium, Coffs Harbour, while both the Stars and Thunder will host a match at Corroboree Group Manuka Oval, Canberra.

The 40 regular season matches will run uninterrupted from December 14 to January 18, except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The BBL|15 Finals series will feature four matches from Tuesday, January 20, culminating in the Final on Sunday, January 25.

Every BBL|15 match will once again be aired on Kayo Sports and Foxtel, including 10 matches exclusive to Fox Cricket.

While 30 regular season matches and every final will be shown live and free on Seven and 7plus.

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s General Manager, Big Bash Leagues, said:

“The League is excited to deliver a BBL fixture packed with highlights and marquee moments for fans to embrace.

“With uninterrupted action every night of the regular season and all the marquee games our fans love, this schedule ensures the BBL remains the heartbeat of summer.

“The fan-favourite fixtures, combined with the family-friendly entertainment that makes the Big Bash, has BBL|15 well positioned to build on the success of last summer.

“We were blown away by the quality of overseas talent signed via the BBL draft and can’t wait to see these global superstars in action alongside some of Australia’s biggest names.

“The success of the competition is not possible without the support of our Clubs, the Australian Cricketers’ Association, broadcasters Seven Network, FOX SPORTS, ABC and SEN, League partners KFC, Toyota and BKT, venues and state and territory governments. We thank them all for their support of the BBL.”

Seven Network Head of Cricket, Joel Starcevic said:

“At Seven, we are ecstatic to bring fans all the biggest and best moments of BBL|15, live and free, as we showcase the stars, rivalries and drama that make this competition the most entertaining sport of the summer.

“With prime-time matches, the most anticipated fixtures and wall-to-wall coverage, our commentary team will be right in the middle of the BBL action and calling the play at the stadiums from the first ball to the final, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.

“We’re proud to play our part in growing the Big Bash and bring fans all the unmissable action across the summer of cricket.”

Joe Bromham, Executive Producer – Fox Sports, said:

“The BBL is a huge part of the Australian summer – and the only places to watch every ball, live and ad-break free during play, are Kayo Sports and Foxtel.

“Our Fox Cricket coverage will once again bring the razzle dazzle to the BBL with world class commentary, plus every exclusive match in 4K, delivering epic prime time entertainment these summer holidays.

“Last season was our best ever Big Bash League and with a massive Men’s Ashes series also on the horizon, Kayo Sports and Foxtel are your ultimate destinations for the summer of cricket.”
