PIYATISSA “TISSA” GOONATILAKA
A Thomian to the End
It is with profound sadness that we inform our Thomian community of the passing of Piyatissa “Tissa” Goonatilaka, our most senior Thomian in Sydney, at the remarkable age of 102.
His daughter has informed us that Tissa passed away peacefully in his sleep.
A proud and loyal Thomian whose association with S. Thomas’ College began in 1938, Tissa lived throughout his long life by the enduring values of integrity, service and loyalty to his Alma Mater.
We mourn the passing of a truly remarkable gentleman and a treasured link with generations of Thomians. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with his daughters and the entire family at this sad time.
