Wellaweediyage Sadun Chathuranga Perera popularly known as SUDUN PERERA born on 19th march 1994 a native of Katubedda now living in his own house in Rukmale Pannipitiya had commenced his singing career as a lyricist has come a long way today as the most sought after singer for indoor ,outdoor concerts and for overseas concerts mostly in Dubai and in a few European countries.
Sandun had initially come to fame as a ‘Dummy” singer for production houses who sings according to the music composer before the true artiste named sings for the recording. This can be achieved or performed only by a vocalist who is capable which is however usually entrusted to the music composer.
After recording may songs which had become trending with millions of you tube viewers Sadun having been nominated many times for the ‘Male Singer’ of the year at Slim Kantar People’s awards youth choice’. Sadun was awarded with this prestigious award in year 2023 for his song ‘ Arabi Kumari’ .This song has passed many records in you tube for the number of you tube viewers which was 16 million you tube viewers a feat that needs to be applauded. In addition there had been million streams all over other platforms in just a few moths a feat that need to be commended. It is pertinent to state that there had been one million views in just two days a feat not heard of.
The first song of Sadun Perera was “Ath Alla Durak Gewala” which too became an instant hit before he became a sought after ‘Dummy Singer’ for many famous vocalists at production houses which earned him a gigantic popularity in quick time.”Thaniwenna Epa” was a dummy song he sang for a popular production house, as he had sung to precision this song was made his own song which is a rare occurrence in a production house.This was perhaps the beginning of Sadun Perera’s magical journey whose name is now a household name. His hair style which is so peculiar which takes him about an hour to erect at a salon is now his unique identity.
