SBS 30th Anniversary with Admiral Ravindra Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne - the founder and first CO of Sri Lanka Navy Special Boats Squadron (SBS)

Admiral Ravi Wijegunaratne, the founder and first CO of Sri Lanka Navy Special Boats Squadron (SBS); the Naval Commando Unit at Navy House, Trincomalee with Petty Officer ( SBS) S Kumara Basnayake , who was injured on 10th November 1995, fighting against LTTE terrorists at Ilankanthai, South of Trincomalee and wife and son of Chief Petty Officer (SBS) K G Shantha, PWV, the recipient of Highest Gallantry Medal of Sri Lanka – Parama Wira Wibushanaya for his exceptional Gallantry and valour in sacrificing his own life to protect brother officers and sailors  at Seas off Point Pedro on 1st November 2008. 

SBS planned number of Religious ceremonies to remember fallen heroes (51 of them) fighting LTTE terrorists from November 1993 to May 2009.
