Soundarie David & Band MAYA to present அன்றும் இன்றும் (Andrum Indrum – Then and Now)’, Celebrating the Timeless Journey of Tamil Cine Music!
The enduring sounds of Tamil Cine music will take centre stage this September as acclaimed musician, pianist and choral director Soundarie David Rodrigo and Band MAYA present ‘அன்றும் இன்றும் (Andrum Indrum – Then and Now)’, an evening celebrating the music of yesterday and today.
The concert will be held on 13 September 2026 from 7.00 p.m. onwards at the Bishop’s College Auditorium, bringing together an accomplished line-up of vocalists and musicians for a special celebration of Indian music across generations.
Presented under the musical direction of Soundarie David Rodrigo, ‘அன்றும் இன்றும் (Andrum Indrum –Then and Now)’ explores the enduring appeal of Tamil Cine music, bringing together familiar sounds and contemporary interpretations in a live performance designed to connect generations of music lovers.
The concert will feature vocalists Chandru, Prashanthini Nishanthan, Tanuja Joseph Varghese and Prakash K, supported by an ensemble of musicians including Visharada Ratnam Pradeep, Ananth, Melvin Ratnathurai Rodrigo, Yoga Dharshan and Frank. The ensemble will bring together tabla and percussion, bass, drums and Octapad, keyboards and guitar.

At the helm of the production is Soundarie David Rodrigo, a prominent figure in Sri Lanka’s music landscape whose career spans performance, music direction, choral music and music education. She is the founder and Music Director of Soul Sounds, Sri Lanka’s internationally recognised female vocal ensemble, and the founder and director of the Soul Sounds Academy.
Through Soul Sounds, Soundarie has taken Sri Lankan choral music to international stages, with the ensemble participating in prestigious competitions and festivals including the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales and the World Choir Games. Her work has also extended into developing young musical talent through the Soul Sounds Academy, providing training and performance opportunities across a range of musical disciplines.
With ‘அன்றும் இன்றும் (Then and Now)’, Soundarie and Band MAYA bring together a diverse group of vocalists and musicians for an evening that celebrates the richness, evolution and nostalgia of Tamil Cine music. The concert is set to offer audiences a vibrant live musical experience that draws on the sounds of the past while embracing the present.
