SUNDAY CHOICE – TEARS ARE A LANGUAGE GOD UNDERSTANDS – by Charles Schokman

Charles Schokman

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Ps126:5.

Tears are a universal language that is understood in every culture, every religion, and every country. It is the water that binds humanity together. Whether it is tears shed in memory of a loved one lost in war, the pain of an unknown person, or tears shed on seeing someone, all of these express the shared grief and love of humanity.

Tears, that precious drop that springs from the depths of the heart, are a symbol of the most tender and true emotions of human life. It is that water that is neither born from the rumbling of clouds nor the flow of rivers. It springs from that secret source of the soul where love, compassion, sorrow, and joy merge into each other and form a sacred nectar. Tears are that pure water that washes the heart, purifies it, and takes it closer to that infinite truth where the human and the supreme meet. But in today’s age, when artificiality covers the truth, we have to understand the value of tears. Along with seeing the tears flowing in the pain of others, we have to face the tears of our own heart, because only this…

When a lover drenches himself in the pain of his beloved, when a mother drowns herself in the pain of her child, when a devotee surrenders his soul at the feet of God, then tears are not just water; they become the prayer of the soul, which expresses unspoken feelings. Tears are the mirror of self-reflection. They inspire us to look within ourselves and connect us with our weaknesses, sensitivities, and truth. Facing our tears is a step of self-reflection, which helps us understand who we are, where our feelings originate from, and what truth our heart is searching for. Sorrow is the fire that burns the heart, and tears are the clouds that cool that heat. But tears do not only sing songs of sorrow. They are also carriers of love, compassion, and joy. When we face our tears of sorrow, we not only understand our pain but also discover the truth hidden behind that pain. This self-reflection leads us to question: Where…

Pray these hymns be a source of solace at the time of uncertainty and grief.

You are welcome to pass this on.
