Reverend Father Ranjith Andradi, the Rector of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, celebrated his 30th ordination anniversary on July 31.

Born on November 6, 1968, in Payagala, Father Andradi comes from a family of eight. His father, Mr. D. M. J. Andradi, was a devout Catholic, and his mother, Mrs. Lucy Suwaris, was known for her kindheartedness. He has six brothers and two sisters. His elder brother, Rev. Fr. Kamal Andradi, is also a priest.
Father Andradi entered St. Aloysius Seminary and was ordained a priest on July 31, 1993. He was appointed as an assistant priest in Grand Street, Negombo, and then as assistant parish priest of St. Mary’s Church, Dehiwala, in 1994. In 1996, he was appointed as the Primary Principal, Middle School Principal, and Prefect of Games at St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10. Under his guidance, the school achieved numerous successes in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities.

In 2005, Father Andradi went to the United Kingdom to pursue a Master’s degree. He returned to St. Joseph’s College in 2007 and continued to serve the school with dedication, passion, and commitment. In 2008, he was appointed as the Principal of St. Joseph’s College, Wattala Branch.

In 2010, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith appointed Father Andradi as the Rector of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10. Under his able administration, the school has undergone a significant transformation. He has created a pleasant and conducive learning environment, and he has worked hard to improve the image of the school.
During his tenure as Rector, Father Andradi has overseen the construction of a modern auditorium, science laboratory, computer center, chapel, and library. He has also introduced SMART Boards to the classrooms, which has helped to improve the quality of education at the school.
Father Andradi is a visionary leader who has helped to make St. Joseph’s College a premier institution of learning. He is a true treasure trove to the Josephians, and his work has been greatly appreciated by the school community.
May his noble work continue for the people of God.
