Let’s explore more about Sri Lanka together! It’s a fascinating place full of rich culture, beautiful landscapes, and warm-hearted people. I hope you find this information inspiring and enjoyable as you learn about this amazing country.
One of the most beautiful and unforgettable songs that truly touches the soul about this stunning island, written by the legendary Gold & Platinum award-winning ALSTON KOCH. He has also been recognised as an ‘Ambassador’.
‘Sri Lankan Of The Year’, and recently received the ‘Best Actor’ award for his leading role alongside Bollywood superstar Jacqui Fernandez. Alston continues to inspire me through the years — he’s not only a remarkable talent but also a true inspiration to everyone around him, including myself here in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Alston, being appointed as an ambassador for Tourism in Sri Lanka, was appointed envoy to Australia and the Pacific by the Common Union. in October 2025
In this exciting new role, Alston will proudly represent the Commonwealth Union, working passionately to further its goals in harmony with the People’s Charter of the Commonwealth. He will focus on building stronger regional collaborations, championing inclusivity and sustainability, and boosting community engagement throughout Australia and the Pacific. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact!
It’s wonderful to see a talented individual earning international recognition for their work in music, entertainment, and humanitarian efforts. At the same time, it’s a bit disappointing that many gifted people like Alston haven’t yet received the recognition they truly deserve from the Sri Lankan government and its tourism authorities, who are focused on showcasing the island as a beautiful tourist destination.
It’s often said that a man isn’t always celebrated in his own homeland, a truth that hits closer to home than we sometimes realise. We often find it easier to admire the greatness in others from afar than to recognise it right within our own community.
It’s wonderful to recognise and uplift the talented individuals around us who are actively making progress, doing meaningful work, and pushing boundaries. Let’s support them before the world does!
Let’s give it a try! We’re excited to see how it turns out. End
