Cranbourne is fast becoming the place to be for fabulous Sri Lanka cuisine.
We are beginning to feel the move away from Keysborough was not the worst decision for many reasons, and the culinary excellence in Cranbourne is one that backs the move.

There is Sri Lankan fare springing up like mushrooms all around us and the Cosmo Lounge in Cranbourne West is an example.
But now from the shadows, Cafe Ayubowan has emerged as the place to beat for a massive spread for breakfast at an unbeatable price.
At the outset, dining for breakfast which starts at 10. 30 a.m extends to 2 p.m to be able to accommodate the rush to be there because of the limited seating. Makes it literally Brunch.

Renovated to a Bali Hut type setting reminiscent to Sri Lanka’s own restaurant set-ups, the dining experience is inviting and laid back.
Still in its infancy, we were treated to a array of Sri Lankan food such as Stringhoppers, Hoppers, Kiribath, Rotti, Thosai, Mung Atta, Vadais, Pan rolls, Malu paans, accompanied by Kola Kanda, Aanang, Pork, Fish, Beef, curries, Dahl, Seeni Sambol, Pol Sambol, Thosai sambol, lunumiris, and a host of other delicacies including Kavum and other delicious Sri Lanka sweets. Adding to it real Buffalo Curd and Honey and Fruit salad to complete a comprehensive choice at under 18 Dollars per head. Definitely unbeatable.

The standard of cooking is first class.
Owners Daz and Nelu had no qualms about the price as they negotiate attracting custom to this limited seating restaurant that incorporates a take away business as well. Bookings are therefore essential for a sit and eat says Daz.
Thanks Michael and Suzie Prins for taking us on this unforgettable experience. Anne and I have not eaten so much for breakfast in a long while. We will be back for sure.
