CDS AWARDS RS. 700,000.00 TO SBS PERSONS WOUNDED IN ACTION

The Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral RC Wijegunaratne authored a book titled \”Read Between the Lines\” compiling the essays written by him with true stories in his 38 years of military career.
A fund is being raised with the income generated by selling the book among military personnel to look after the welfare of the personnel and families of Sri Lanka Navy Special Boat Squadron (SBS) who were wounded and killed in action.
As the first step of this noble initiative, seven (07) SBS personnel who were wounded in action were awarded with Rs. 100,000.00 each today (30th April) evening at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS).
Mrs.Yamuna Wijegunarante, Mr. Satyajith Wijegunaratne, the Commanding officer of Special Boats Squadron and several senior officers at OCDS were present on this special occasion.
