Dear Friend,

In the midst of tremendous struggle, the resilience and courage displayed by the remarkable students in our Education Sponsorship Program (ESP) never ceases to amaze us. Recently, we have been inspired by two young men who are part of the ESP in eSwatini. Here are their stories:

Thembela’s Story

Thembela is a 29-year old student who recently completed his Diploma in Emergency Medical Care and Rescue. Thembela dreams of being a paramedic one day, but employment opportunities in eSwatini are limited. When Thembela approached our local partner in eSwatini with an idea that would set him apart from other graduates in his field, we jumped at the chance to empower this young man. Siphosethu’s Story

For many years, Siphosethu’s teeth were a source of embarrassment and shame. Severe decay meant that his teeth would need to be extracted and replaced with false teeth – a lengthy, painful process. Dental treatment would be costly and time consuming and he was unable to face this alone.

Introducing the Education Empowerment Fund

Earlier this year, Rwandan student, Esther graduated from university. The ESP came alongside Esther by providing funds for her graduation cap, gown and celebration. As our students progress in their studies, many of them require extra support beyond tuition fees and materials. Find out more about how you can be part of this new initiative to support our students.
