Don Ravi Iddamalgoda’s story is one of ambition, resilience, and dedication to both business growth and community service. Migrating to Australia in 2001, Don Ravi first settled in Victoria, where he began laying the foundations for a remarkable career in international trade.
In 2005, Don Ravi identified an opportunity to connect Australia’s agricultural resources with the needs of Sri Lanka. He initiated the export of Australian Red Lentils to Sri Lanka, a venture that quickly gained momentum. Today, Aus Grain Exports, the company he helped build, stands as one of the largest exporters of Red Lentils to Sri Lanka, bridging the gap between Australian farmers and Sri Lankan consumers.
In 2022, Don Ravi made a significant move to New South Wales (NSW), signaling both personal and professional growth. Embracing his new community, he took on the role of Secretary in the Sri Lanka Association of NSW, where he has worked tirelessly to support and empower Sri Lankan Australians living in the region.
Looking ahead, Don Ravi’s vision extends beyond business and day-to-day community service. He is committed to creating a lasting legacy through the development of a Retirement Village for the Sri Lankan community in NSW. This project reflects his dedication to enhancing the quality of life for elders and fostering a sense of belonging for future generations.
