Friends of Sri Lanka Floods Fundraiser
Dear Friends,
We are calling on your support to join us for a fabulous night of Sri Lankan food, with silent and live
auctions, to support flood relief operations in Sri Lanka.
Date/Time: Saturday 23rd July 2016 at 7:00pm
Venue: Seaforth Anglican Church, 3 Frenchs Forest Road, Seaforth (at the roundabout)
Dress: Smart/casual with a touch of oriental

We have chosen to initiate this fundraiser to be certain that all the profits raised will go directly to
the flood victims. This will be achieved in two ways. Firstly, the majority of the funds raised will be
transferred to Metipahana Disaster Management run by the Rt. Rev Kumara Illangasinghe.
Secondly, a smaller portion of funds raised will go to help orphanages affected by the flooding
through Network Heaven, run by Anne Salvador from Frenchs Forest Baptist Church.
The evening will comprise a scrumptious Sri Lankan dinner which will be attended by the Rev
Kanishka Raffel, newly appointed Dean of Sydney, who will have recently returned from Sri Lanka.
Also MasterChef finalist Kumar, will talk about Sri Lankan food and will autograph his beautifully
illustrated cookbook which will be on sale. Prizes and auction items will include amongst others, a
two week trip to Sri Lanka (airfares, accommodation and local transport included) and a dinner for
eight cooked by Kumar in your home.
Don’t forget to invite your friends to support this worthy cause. If you are booking for a group of
friends, you can nominate your table (please detail any special seating requests). Dietary
requirements can be advised. For those unable to attend there is the opportunity to make a
donation.
