Old boys of St. Peter’s College in the USA conducted their eighth annual cricket carnival last weekend in Maryland where DC Lanka Lions recorded a hard fought win over Maryland Titans.

This year the championship attracted 18 teams from New York, Maryland, Virginia and DC States.

Though the Championship was conducted in a carnival atmosphere, previously the organisers had to maintain strict health guidelines during the day due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The annual championship was started with the aim of supporting students at St. Peter’s College (Gampaha branch) and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the school according to the organisers.

One of the organisers said that many Sri Lankans living in the USA came forward to support the cause in various ways as the event provided an opportunity for all Sri Lankans to come together and help a worthy cause that will definitely help the future generation.
