Gnanakatha: Sri Lankan Milk Biscuits Recipe – By Malsha – eLanka

Gnanakatha: Sri Lankan Milk Biscuits Recipe - By Malsha - eLanka

Ingredients:

  • 120g all-purpose flour
  • 75g powdered sugar
  • 50g melted butter
  • 50g milk powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, powdered sugar, and milk powder. Beat until smooth, then add the vanilla extract.
  2. Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder together, then gradually add to the butter mixture to form a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour as needed.
  4. Divide the dough into small portions. Shape each piece into a small ball, then gently flatten, keeping the center slightly thicker.
  5. Place the shaped biscuits onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Lightly sprinkle water on top and dust with sugar.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden.

Enjoy your homemade Gnanakatha!
