1955 vs. Madras H.A. Chandi was another outstanding Forward who played for the Tamil Union from the late 1940s until the mid 1960s.  He played Centre Forward and Left Inside most of the time, and was a neat artist who was able to get past his opponents with great agility.

He played for the Government Services at the National championships from 1956 to 1964, captaining the winning team in 1961.

1966  Tour of South and North India Royce was an extremely talented Left Extreme with speed and guile. He represented the Colombo H.A. at the National Championships in 1964 and 1966. He went into Planting in 1966.  Thereby, missing out on an impressive international career. He emigrated to the USA in 2003 with his family.

1969  Tour of South and North India 1970  vs Mysore H.A.     Light on his feet, tall and lanky, Fouzer was a classy defender whose positional play was impeccable. He would stem any dangerous move in the ‘D’ and simultaneously create an attacking move.

He represented Matale H.A. from 1960 to 1967.

1969  Tour of South and North India Clifford was a Forward that any team would want. A tireless player both in attack and defence, he was a match winner at all levels.  Also had the knack of deflecting passes into the net, surprising deep defenders and goalies.

He represented the Mercantile H.A. at the National Championships from 1964 to 1970, captaining in 1971 and 1973, and also the Colombo H.A.in 1972, 1974/75.

1973  vs Mysore H.A. 1974  Tour of South and North India Shanti was one of the very best all-round sportsmen at Wesley College.  A great lover of hockey, he was a prominent figure in forming the Old Wesleyites Hockey Club.  A tireless defender, was an asset to any team.  At the National Championships he represented Colombo H.A. from 1969 to 1975, captaining in 1973 and 1975, playing the winning teams of 1973 and 1974; and Joint champions in 1971 and 1972.  Representing the Mercantile H.A., he played in 1977 and the winning teams of 1979 and 1982.

A prominent academic, he was the Principal of Wesley College from 2009 to 2013 and mainly responsible for initiating and building the swimming pool and ………..
