Due to financial challenges limiting his progression in real-world racing, Shanaka transitioned into sim racing, where his skill and determination have allowed him to flourish. Shanaka took part in a record-breaking worldwide109,000 Sim Racing players who completed over 1.4 million laps to qualify for a F1 Sim racing seat in 2019. His exceptional speed and skill advanced him to the final 30 drivers competing live in front of all F1 Teams at the London Arena, where he finished 2nd overall—impressing several F1 teams with his outstanding performance. Today, he competes at the very highest level of esports, representing some of the most prestigious teams in Formula 1:

A standout victory at the 2019 Canadian Grand Prix, where he triumphed over a two-time F1 Esports World Champion is where his esports career took off. His achievements also include championship titles in F1 League racing and recognition as a points scoring driver in F1 Esports championship.
