SpeedStar Championship 2025: Set to Kick-Off at SpeedBay, Port City!
Colombo, Sri Lanka – 21st March 2025: The SpeedStar Championship 2025 is set to kick off at the SpeedBay track in Port City on Friday, 28th of March. Organized by David Pieris City Developments, the racing event promises an exciting and fierce motorsport experience.
The first round of the SpeedStar Championship 2025 will take place at the purpose built SpeedBay track, marking the beginning of a three-round series. Friday’s race will feature varied skill levels, providing a platform for drivers across different categories to showcase their talent. Racing enthusiasts, families, and friends are invited to witness the competition as drivers race for the championship.
The event will feature the following categories which will also include a Ladies Open.

“SpeedStar is specifically designed for novice drivers with no prior racing experience. The champion from each class will receive free entry to the final round of the SWS Sprint Cup, set to take place at SpeedBay, Pearl Bay circuit. Instructors and driver coaching programs are available to help participants prepare for the races. With a bit of practice, anyone can join the series!” enthused Buddhima Atapattu, Divisional Manager – David Pieris Group.
The next race in the series will follow soon after with the SpeedStar Championship marking the beginning of a series of events scheduled by SpeedBay for 2025, establishing a strong foundation for a competitive and engaging motorsport season.
