  • Islamabad – 16 January 2024 (Adnan Hameed) : In a significant diplomatic interaction, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, Admiral (Retd) Ravindra Chandra Srivijay Gunaratne, paid a visit to Naval Headquarters Islamabad. The distinguished envoy was received by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, for a high-level meeting. Discussions during the meeting encompassed a range of crucial topics, including issues of mutual interest, the contemporary geopolitical landscape, and emerging maritime security challenges. Both parties acknowledged the historical strength of the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, emphasizing the continuous growth over the past seven decades. Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, highlighted the robust ties between the two nations, particularly in the maritime domain. He underscored the strengthening bond and collaborative efforts in maintaining regional maritime security.
