STCOBANSW/ACT – AGM and New Committee 2025

Dear Fellow Thomians,

We are delighted to announce the newly elected OBA committee for the forthcoming period 2025/26. The new committee was appointed at the AGM that concluded on 26th October 2025 with President pro tempore Milroy Berenger.

Similar to past years, many Thomians both young and old gathered at the Baulkham Hills Community Centre for the AGM. The afternoon kicked off with the formal proceedings followed by fellowship dinner.

This year three of our long serving committee members decided to step down. Namely the Secretary, Rishantha Rajakaruna, past president Sanjiv Vivekanandan and  our talented MC Duke Ramachandran. All three have contributed immensely to the OBA for many years and we thank them for their dedication and service.

Continuing the momentum from previous years, we yet again saw three young members taking up roles in the committee.

This year,  we had the honour of celebrating a young centenarian, Tissa Goonatilaka’s birthday with the presentation of a plaque and the cutting of a cake.

Kumar Rasiah took a moment to give us an update on the works happening at Gurutalawala.

The guest speaker for this year’s AGM was past president Rukmal (Rocky) Wijesooriya. He reflected on his past experience and the importance of giving back and supporting one another.

We would like to thank all those who attended the AGM and everyone else who sent good wishes

We look forward to an exciting 2025/26 with the confidence that it will be yet another successful period and hoping to see as many of you as possible in upcoming events.
