British Council

The British Council Sri Lanka awarded six exceptional IELTS students from across the country with the promise of a superior university education, at the British Council’s IELTS Prize awards ceremony 2023 held at the British Council library in Colombo on Monday 27 November.

The winners were awarded up to £5,000 which would go towards their university tuition fees in English-speaking universities from across the world – helping ambitious young people turn their academic dreams into reality.

The annual competition is open to students who have applied for undergraduate or postgraduate studies -locally or overseas- through IELTS, with plans to commence their courses from January 2023 to March 2024. This year’s competition was open to IELTS-takers living in Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal.
