Sustainable tourism has the potential to bring about positive changes in communities. It can create jobs, promote inclusion, strengthen local economies, and serve as an instrument for peace.

Hello viewers,
I attended the World Tourism and Peace Day celebrations organised by the Chauffeur Tour Guide Lecturers Association. The event occurred on September 27th, World Tourism Day, when we reflected on the connection between tourism and peace. The celebration was held in an open-air forest area near Sigiriya Rock. Today’s video delves into the symbiosis of tourism and peace. As I stand here, fresh from the celebration organised by The chauffeur Tour Guide Lecturers Association,

I am reminded that every step we take as travellers have the power to weave threads of connection. Whether exploring hidden temples, sharing a meal with locals, or simply gazing at the horizon, we contribute to a global tapestry of understanding.

Picture a world where the rustle of teak and other forest leaves blends with the rhythm of a peaceful heart, ancient ruins tell stories of resilience, and the morning sun paints the sky in serene colours amidst the historic Sigiriya Rock. Welcome to a journey where travel goes beyond destinations and becomes a bridge to understanding, peace, compassion, and unity.

So, fasten your seatbelts, fellow wanderers, as we embark on a quest—a quest not just for breathtaking landscapes but also for the quietude that settles within us when we truly connect with the world and its people. Let’s explore how travel can be a catalyst for peace and how peace, in turn, enriches our journeys.

“Come with me as we explore the subtle interplay between footsteps and serenity, between passports and open hearts. On this journey together, we realise that the real beauty of travel is found not just in the destinations we visit but in the relationships we
build along the way.”

Tourism brings people together. On this World Tourism Day, we reflect on the profound connection between tourism and peace, said Antonio Guterres- SecretaryGeneral of the United Nations Sustainable tourism can transform communities – creating jobs, fostering inclusion and strengthening of local economies.

By valuing and preserving cultural and natural heritage, it can help reduce tensions and nurture peaceful coexistence.

We stay Tourism can also promote economic interdependence between neighbours, encouraging cooperation and peaceful development.

I trust you found this video enriching and take pride in our rich heritage and culture, which contribute to global harmony. Farewell for now. When you visit Sigiriya there is one cosy villa hotel for your comforts.

“We stayed overnight at the Oak Ray Fresco Villa, a 15-minute drive to the rock site. The resort is very comfortable and serene, with superb buffet layouts. The rooms are cosy and peaceful. The garden becomes a spectacular paradise with the illuminations, and night outdoor walks are most refreshing.” “Outstanding reviews on TripAdvisor” This villa resort is strongly recommended to if ever you visit Sigiriya.
