The Papare Band and former Sri Lankan women captain Shashikala set to Ignite Women's Ashes Test at the MCG

Melbourne based Sri Lankan community has announced to come forward to support Women’s Ashes Test at the MCG commencing from 30th Jan.

The Women’s Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is set to witness a unique and vibrant atmosphere, thanks to a diverse range of supporters rallying behind both teams.

Cricket Australia has actively encouraged participation from diverse communities, with notable figures like Sri Lankan former women captain Shashikala Siriwardene, Pakistan cricketer Usman Qadir and Renegades player Ruwantha Kellopatha expected to be in attendance along with various fan groups.

The MCG will be abuzz with color and energy as various fan groups come together to celebrate the occasion. The Sri Lankan Papare Band, Pakistan Hulk, English Barmy Army, and a Pakistani group led by Tariq Naveed, who purchased 850 tickets for the recent Brisbane T20I, will all be in attendance on Day 1.

But the biggest turnout is expected on Day 3, when over 1000 fans, led by Ryan and Tony Podcast group, will descend upon the MCG, dressed in their finest gear.

The Women’s Ashes Test promises to be an unforgettable experience, with the MCG set to be electric on all four days of the match.

This diverse fan support underscores Cricket Australia’s commitment to growing the women’s game and creating an inclusive and engaging environments for all.
