40 of 50 world’s Blue chip Companies to invest in SL !

Sir Richard Brenson world renowned entrepreneur too to visit SL !

Blue chip Companies to invest in SL

(Lanka-e-News -25.Jan.2016, 8.10PM) This was the first time Sri Lanka (SL) was invited to participate in this year’s World Economic Forum . At this Forum , about 50 Blue chip Companies of the world , that is 50 of the richest companies held clear and lengthy discussions in regard to SL ‘s new economic policies . The discussions proved so fruitful that about 40 of these companies have evinced their desire to invest in SL. Just as , this was the first time SL was invited to this conference, this outcome of the discussions was also the first time SL had been able to successfully convince the blue chip Companies to seek investment in SL – this is something unprecedented in SL’s history , said Malik Samarawickrema , the minister of strategic development and international trade , when speaking to Lanka e news.

The World Economic Forum that commenced on the 20 th at DaVos city , Switzerland concluded on the 24th The minister who travelled to Germany after the conclusion of the conference made the above comments when speaking to a special representative of Lanka e news in that country.

These Blue chip companies , each has a minimum capital base of US dollars 15 billion . In addition to these companies which were about 50 in number ,the delegation led by the prime minister had discussions with many State leaders and international organizations, the minister stated further.

Among the international organizations referred to hereinbefore are the information technology professional association alias Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) , the Asian Development Bank and the International monetary fund (IMF ) which are the frontline International Organizations in the world , the minister pinpointed.

To SL which is going to give itself a fresh lease of life , through re building for the first time , these are a great boon and blessing. The next step is to make what were discussed and decided a reality . Toward this a lot of work has to be done and lot of effort have to be put in. Unlike in the past and those politicos who wasted time wantonly , there is a lot of lost time to be recovered , and therefore the government has to act and act fast to re build the country without wasting time, Minister Samarawickrema exhorted.

Some politicians are still not having a clear perspective in regard to the new direction in which the country should forge ahead. Hence , all of them must be invited to a workshop and discussion . Through that the shortcomings and lapses be identified , and solutions found after gathering all the new proposals . Therefore , everyone must contribute to this , and commit themselves to building a new country , the minister went on to elaborate.

Virgin conglomerate Governor Sir Richard Brenson to visit SL

Meanwhile , Sir Richard Brenson , the chief Executive of Virgin conglomerate , a British Blue chip Co. had expressed his burning desire to visit SL for investment purposes , inspired by the new economic journey of SL, and the economic model it is following. Sir Brenson has discussed with P.M. Ranil Wickremesinghe today in regard to his impending tour of SL , and stated that his visit is motivated by investment interest , and he wishes to probe further in that direction while being here . Sir Brenson has also pointed out , he has a very great interest to invest in the SL tourism sphere.

Sir Richard Charles Nicolas Brenson is a very wealthy British citizen with an exceptional reputation for business. In 1970 when he was just a 16 years old student , by publicizing a magazine for students that could be got down by post , he ventured into the business sphere .By now , he has launched 400 companies including Virgin media which is Britain’s most advanced communication Co. and formed the Virgin conglomerate of his.

The world entrepreneur community considers Brenson who introduced a number of new projects to the world entrepreneurship sphere , as a legend. He received his knighthood in the year 2000 in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the entrepreneurship sphere. By that time he had built an asset base of sterling pounds 6 billion !

The influx of world renowned entrepreneurs for investment in SL instead of Casino magnates , wheeler dealers and Maharajas who outrageously and shamelessly robbed most valuable portraits ,is certainly going to re write SL ‘s new investment policy and culture in gold letters.
