St Paul’s Milagiriya Past Pupils Association of NSW - The ‘Starry Night’ Dinner Dance at the Epping Club on 24th February 2024

The ‘Starry Night’ Dinner Dance to celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of the inauguration of the St Paul’s Milagiriya Past Pupils Association of NSW (SPM PPA – NSW) was held on Saturday, 24th February 2024 at The Epping Club.

The resounding success of events organised by this Association in the past years, has made it very popular amongst the Sri Lankan community and true to form, over 200 guests attended ‘Starry Night’, not only from NSW but from other States of Australia as well.

The event was a joyous and fun-filled occasion from the word ‘go’.  The lively dance music played throughout the evening by the band, Kamis had most guests on the dance floor, which was opened by our own expert ballroom dancers, Mahesh & Anne – Marie.  Light entertainment was also provided by the Brazilian dancers of Topazio.

The function was very skilfully guided throughout the evening by the impeccable MC, Duke Ramachandran and it is well documented by the very professional photographer, Roy Gunaratne of RoyGrafix. The event ended with DJ Juda Drums playing baila music.

The Epping Club started off by serving cocktails and canapes before entry into the beautifully decorated Grand Ballroom. They then followed it up with a delicious 3-course meal with unlimited wine and soft drinks and a tea/coffee/cake service after.

The Raffle prizes including return air ticket to Sri Lanka from Sri Lankan Airlines and various generous donors saw the Association make a profit, which will of course primarily go towards helping the needy students of SPM, and to other charitable organisations both here in Australia and in Sri Lanka as well.

The accompanying photos provided by RoyGrafix have captured the mood of the very magical evening enjoyed by the guests, who totally contributed to its success.

Congratulations to SPM PPA NSW branch. They’ve certainly added ‘Starry Night’ to the many successful events organised by them in the past 10 years.

SPM PPA – NSW Committee wish to thank all the guests who attended the event and look forward to welcome them at their future events.
