“DISCIPLINE- DEADLINE” by Des Kelly

When an autistic pre-teen is attacked by 4 cowards, beaten & kicked & struck with a huge metal spanner which could have killed him (if struck on the head), I would say that the “Discipline-Deadline”is closer at hand, than ever before. The 4 cowards I speak about, were all very young hooligans, with nothing else to do, I suppose, than gang-up to “get their kicks” by beating up a solitary boy, and autistic, at that.

I have written this word “DISCIPLINE” in my articles for eLanka, many times. The word seems to be non-existent in this Country now. Parents nowadays seem unable to discipline their children (boys & girls), This SHOULD happen from the time a child begins to understand right from wrong. Then, they start school, where teachers should know that DISCIPLINE comes before reading, writing & arithmetic.

This does NOT happen, and so starts the school- bullying tactics.

First & foremost, teachers should be advised to discipline their students from the moment they sit down at their desks. This used to happen in the old days, and I remember so well, that “Papa De Nurse”, a “Master” of St.Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya (my Alma Mater), walking around with a short, but stout “cane” tucked beneath his right hand coat sleeve, and when necessary, he didn’t hesitate to “draw” it out deftly, and “use” it to “teach unruly students a good lesson”. If it was dscipline we needed, it was discipline, we got. Nowadays, in Australia, teachers seem to have no control of their students. School Principals seem to have no control of their teachers OR students. No-one seems to have control of anything. So, the stupidity seems to START at school. In my opinion, if a student is too unruly (every child will not be “a Saint” at times), but if they become too undisciplined, they should be kicked out of school, and, when old enough, conscripted into any of the Armed Forces, to be TAUGHT DISCIPLINE.

THERE SEEMS TO BE NO BLOODY DISCIPLINE IN AUSTRALIA ANYMORE!!.

I well remember, only about 50 years ago, Aussie Cops had enough authority to give you a cuff on the head or a kick up the backside if they found you breaking the law.

If you deserved it, you got it. Nowadays, they cannot “touch you”. Their main job seems to be the writing of lengthy reports. Then, serious lawbreakers go to Court, and IF the attending “Judge” (there aren’t too many of them either),has the AUDACITY to send the offender to jail for a period of time, these lawbreakers LOVE IT. Jails in Australia are akin to 5 Star Hotels in Asian Countries. 3 scrumptous meals a day, exercise breaks, television sets & magazines to read (if they can read), remembering what they did at school !, conjugal visits, to stop criminals (men AND women) doing naughty things like “handling themselves” in front of visitors, without having a “Manager” to do it, medications for the sick darlings “served” personally to them, when they fall ill from illicit drugs (somehow, freely available in most jails here), & then, to top it off, sent “out” on parole, to commit their crimes (even rape & murder), all over again.

What kind of a cockeyed World are we living nowadays ?.

Australia, our first World Multicultural-Mecca, HAS to learn that although “Budgets” are important, bloody DISCIPLINE is far more important. Before they start  “nattering” about their “Constitutions”, their Parliamentarians being ” born Aussies, (and registered nowhere else), before they twitter about same-sex marriages, before they boast about the Billions of dollars they intend spending IF they win the next election, before any-bloody-thing else, they should concentrate on legislating DISCIPLINE into the Country that sadly lacks it right now.

Young thugs like the ones who attacked the autistic boy MUST be taught a lesson. The one who carried the metal spanner should be hit with a bloody metal hammer himself, to see how it feels. Governments, Liberal or Labour (what other bloody choice have we got)?, please remember that

“THE DISCIPLINE-DEADLINE” is close at hand. USE IT.!!

This is a great Country, but without the necessary disciplines, we are slipping into oblivion. The folk who elect you into Government expect it. Change archaic laws. Make it a “more Multicultural -Mecca”, certainly, but “admit” ONLY those who will be an asset, not a liability, into Australia.

Give the people in authority THE authority to USE this authority. “D”eal “I” nstantly, “S”atisfying “C”ommunities”I”n

“P”reference,  “L”ike “I” “N”ow “E”mphasise, “DISCIPLINE”.
