Chamari Athapaththu visited a local cricket club in Sydney

In a bid to promote Chamari Bay and connect with the cricket community, Athapaththu visited the Harris Park Cricket Club at Rosehill today. The star cricketer not only engaged with young and aspiring cricketers but also actively participated in a game with them. The enthusiastic young players had the unique opportunity to play alongside one of the standout performers of WBBL Season 09.

Expressing her joy at the announcement of Chamari Bay, Athapaththu said, “It feels incredible to have a stand named after me, especially at such a historic venue like the Sydney Cricket Ground. I am grateful for the support from Sydney Thunders and their fans. It was fantastic playing cricket with these passionate young cricketers at Harris Park Cricket Club. They are the future stars of the game, and I am excited to witness their journey.”

Looking ahead to the special match on November 26th, Chamari Athapaththu extended an invitation to cricket fans, saying, “I encourage everyone to come and be a part of Chamari Bay for this match. Let’s create an atmosphere filled with energy and enthusiasm. I want the maximum crowd to witness the match from Chamari Bay and share this memorable experience with me.”

In a momentous recognition of her exceptional performance in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) Season 09, Chamari Athapaththu, the left-handed opener representing the Sydney Thunder, has been honored with a dedicated stand for an upcoming match at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground.
