Their annual Thaipongal dance was a much looked forward to event attended by leading planters and friends from far and wide.
Their annual Thaipongal dance was a much looked forward to event attended by leading planters and friends from far and wide.Yesteryear planters put up these clubs and made them as their meeting places for their families. Otherwise they had very boring lives and their wives had nothing much to do other than daily chores in the house. One reason for that was that planters’ bungalows situated long away from the town. In the olden days the technology was not that developed and especially one can see so many pubs in UK and still families gather in those pubs during the weakends. Pubs too offer cheap meals so that they could entice more people join and vent their experiences in life over a beer or too. T
