Kumudi not so active on social media.Ashan had accidently seen a photo of Kumudi in the social media which had etched in Ashan’s memory had started to locate her for a few months. Having detected the location of her dwelling in Rajagiriya and work place , National Savings Bank also in Rajagiriya Ashan an emotional person was ecstatic to tall statures .The initial messages of Ashan to Kumudi had not been responded to much to his disappointed. After a few enthusiastic endeavours Kumudi had just replied as ‘hi”. Ashan had kept on sending messages until Kumudi responded. Ultimately Ashan was elated when Kumudi had responded to reply to his messages. Ashan had repeatedly messaged her as there was no response had said “Nangi Katha Karannema Nedda”. Had asked whether were you in a music video etc just to drag her to a conversation. Kumudi had initially refused to meet Ashan as she was been dropped to the bank and picked up after work by her mother who was a secretary in a government institution. After Ashan located the bank Kumudi was working in had planned to visit, on hearing his father Ananda too had wanted to accompany ,after seen Kumudi’s photo saying this is vital perhaps a excellent break for Ashan’s future had accompanied him. Father had been asked to stay in the queue to deposit money while Ashan was trying to trace her. On the first day unfortunately Ashan had not seen Kumudi. On a subsequent day also father had accompanied to Kumudi’s bank to deposit money. As Kumudi had seen him on social media had identified Ashan but owing to her pressure of work had not been able to speak. This moment was extremely triumphant to Ashan as to was a result of a three months colossal search, reminisces with the lyrics of his song “ Ha ha Oba Mage Sansare Sihine”. .Ashan had quipped later that considering his humble beginnings in life and his personality Kumudi would never consent to get friendly leave alone marriage.
Kumudi had on insistence of Ashan who was impatient given a time to Ashan to meet at spot in Bambalapitiya where she had been waiting with a bouquet of flowers. Ashan had asked her whether to borrow a car from a friend and come to which Kumudi had replied no to come by bus. At he first meeting Kumudi had found Ashan to be small in stature though in photos she had seen him to possess a huge physique. Ashan’s first words were to confirm he was taller. Ashan had related his humble beginnings had said his ambition in life is to become a music composer and beyond it a music director..Also his father also a vocalist who had failed to realise his ambition in singing on a stage had yearned to see Ashan sing on a stage. These hopes and feelings were studied by Kumudi had continued his association for years in order to have sufficient issues to agree. Initially Kumudi’s parents had not consented as Ashan was not established in the field of music which did not thwart Kumudi’ s intentions of grooming and exploiting Ashan’s ambitions with innate talents which even to date is a dilemma to Ashan. However from the onset Ashan had believed that Kumudi too loved art having participated before meeting him in the Miss Sri Lanka contest 2015 .Kumudi if afforded the opportunity to portray a role with her beauty would consent to which Ashan also had said would extent his whole hearted support .After meeting Kumudi Ashan was determined to make his dreams of becoming a composer of songs .Ashan had after seeing singers perform at concerts in front of large audiences was tempted to emulate them which he had conveyed to Kumudi.
The duo had studied each other for nearly eight years before the nuptial knot was tied. During this period Kumudi had rendered yeoman service with dedication to make Ashan’s dream come a reality. When Ashan had become somewhat of a sought after singer at concerts Kumudi was used to go with her brother to witness many times .Kumudi as his fiancé’ had liked fans including girls who flocked to take selfies with Ashan.At such instances in the dark she used to give light from her mobile . To Ashan, Kumudi was an Anjel then even today she is his Anjel for which Kumudi had confirmed at a media dialog Ashan had not neglected her at all. Ashan was then not earning like now but Kumudi was drawing a monthly salary always seemed to help him financially too , a rare quality of Kumudi not found in many girls..But Kumudi had supported him possessing a scarce quality to help anyone.
Later in life after marriage so many young girls used to come home to meet her to gain access to Ashan when she pesters Ashan to oblige had at times given meals and accommodation to some.. Kumudi had identified how he climbed the ladder to stardom making melodies to others beginning from his first song to Roshan Fernando, then to Amal Perera, Dimantha Wellalage, Tehan Perera etc. Ashan had quipped that he enjoyed listening to the songs for which he made melodies to tall elevations. Ashan had always contacted Kumudi over the phone before the melody was finalized. More often the advice received from Kumudi had proved fruitful after changing certain long parts of the melody the song had felt better to listen to sound better For which Ashan had said Kumudi has a good knowledge of music too.Also for music videos the duo had discussed whom to be chosen for them. But after her wedding from the same persons who were chosen for the music videos had made unnecessary remarks to her which had hurt Kumudi ..She had said in a television dialog that Ashan uses two mobiles one to answer calls and the other for making melodies. He is a person so astute that he could answer to a call while composing a melody.
After marriage Kumudi had said she was confronted to psychological discomforts owing to drastic unwanted remarks of a few. She had confessed that after the duo was friendly they had not made public by posting a single photo to social media platforms. Only close friends of the duo had known about the affair.The duo had decided to post a photo only on the wedding day ,she had met many faithful friends of Ashan.But when some remarks were made as “Did you marry Ashan to become an actress instantly.” etc for such comments she was not used to at all had fallen down mentally particularly as she was novice to this field. Kumudi had been subjected to a mental strain owing to some remarks made by unscrupulous elements perhaps through sheer jealousy. Kumudi did proclaim that anyone though not accepted would be mentally effected after facing such actions. Ashan too had commented that when his first song was released and became popular he too had to face such situations. Kumudi had conveyed also at a dialog that she has had no issues when she lived with her parents had even thought why she had got married to face these insults.But after passing this phase Kumudi has become strong mentally after the jealous acts.
Ashan is a music fanatic who even talk music in his dreams.After marriage hearing Ashan had spoken in his dreams frightening Kumudi which his mother too had experienced. Kumudi’s best friend is now Ashan who share all issues together. One huge quality of Ashan is that he loves and cares for Kumudi in his entire life a quality which Kumudi had wished from her partner before she tied the nuptial knot.
After marriage the duo had taken wing to Melbourne ‘down under’ to pursue highest studies but had returned after a tenure of six months as they missed the respective parents and with the fear that his singing popularity would diminish.Bit it was not to be as Ashan had received continued invitations to sing as earlier. While in Melbourne Ashan had found Kumudi to be an excellent chef been able to prepare very tasty food , which Ashan only known only then. Both parents of the duo are attached to the couple. Kumudi has been loved to the maximum by Ashan’s parents to be called their own child not as a daughter in-law who had been labelled as a ‘IRON ‘ girl by Ashan’s father. Kumudi is thankful to Ashan for exposing her to the media after her marriage.
At a recent television dialog when Kumudi was asked if you are given an option to request in her future birth she said she wishes to get Ashan as her husband.
