Primavera set to bring colour, culture and cash to Liverpool’s heart

Liverpool will burst into colour this October with the return of Primavera, the award-winning Latin American Festival, that transforms Macquarie Mall into a vibrant celebration of music, dance, food and community.

Running Friday 17 to Sunday 19 October, Primavera invites visitors to “feel the beat” of Latin America, with live bands, samba dancers, street parades, market stalls, workshops and a lively pop-up bar.

But it’s more than just fun, it’s a major economic driver. Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun said Council’s events program has become a business magnet, drawing tens of thousands of visitors into the city centre and boosting local trade.

“Festivals like Primavera are good for the soul and great for the economy,” Mayor Mannoun said.

“Every food stall, every dancer and every family that visits contributes to our city’s momentum. It’s about people having fun while local businesses thrive.”

The festival is part of Liverpool City Council’s broader commitment to supporting small business, promoting cultural diversity and building the city’s reputation as Sydney’s leading destination for food, culture and entertainment ahead of the Western Sydney Airport opening next year.

“Liverpool’s festivals are a celebration of who we are: vibrant, diverse and ambitious,” Mayor Mannoun said.

“Events like this bring people together, fill our restaurants and hotels, and show off the incredible talent and energy that make our city special.”

Primavera 2025 is supported by Liverpool Plaza and Aussie Home Loans Liverpool, and will feature performers from across South and Central America, including live Latin bands, dance groups, street food favourites and family-friendly activities.
