Sahasrabisheka Dr Victor Hettigoda Scholarship Program Continues Legacy of Educational Support in 2025
Hettigoda Group Awards 30 Scholarships under the Sahasrabisheka Waidyashuri Deshabandu Ayurveda Dr Victor Hettigoda (LittD) Scholarship Program – 2025
As part of its long-standing commitment to education and community development, the Hettigoda Group of Companies awarded 30 scholarships to high-performing students of Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Walahanduwa–Galle, under the Sahasrabisheka Waidyashuri Deshabandu Ayurveda Dr Victor Hettigoda (LittD) Scholarship Program – 2025.
This initiative, launched in 2007, continues to provide educational opportunities to deserving students, enabling them to achieve academic success and pursue their dreams. The scholarship program reflects the Group’s enduring vision of empowering future leaders and making a meaningful contribution to society.

The scholarship program is a part of the Hettigoda Group’s broader ‘Project Sri Lanka’ initiative. Under this umbrella project, the Group initially developed the full premises of Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, which was officially inaugurated on Teacher’s Day, January 4, 2007. Since then, 30 annual scholarships have been granted to academically outstanding students of the school, reinforcing the company’s dedication to education and opportunity in Sri Lanka.

Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, a national school of approximately 2,300 girls from Grades 1 through 13, is situated on a scenic hilltop in Galle. The school offers a comprehensive academic program, including Advanced Level streams in Science, Mathematics, Commerce, and the Arts, providing students with the opportunity to pursue their individual interests and lay the foundation for their future success.
