Shrasthrapathi Suraji Shamali’s 7th Hindi musical concert ‘Sapta Suranji’ was held successfully at the Nelum Pokuna performing arts theatre – By Sunil Thenabadu
On the 7th July the Hindi music concert of Shrathrapathi Suranji Shamali titled “Sapta Suranji’ was held at the Nelum Pokuna performing arts theatre before an enthusiastic audience with the participation of popular Indian singer Rajesh Power known known as the‘ shadow’ of Mohamed Rafai , her daughter Gayansa Geeradha, Dayan Witharana who sang duets along with a large dance troupes which resembled similar to those in Hindi films which had made the concert multicoloured..
Shamali is the Hindi lecturer in the Kelani University.She had commenced learning Hindi while a student in the Taxila Madhya Maha Vidyalaya Horana from a blind teacher, Shamali recollects she had written the words in Hindi in the Sinhalese vernacular with willpower had learnt Hindi From the Kelaniya University she had obtained a First Class in Hindi special language from the Kelaniya University and then had obtained a First Class from the Banaras University in India and had further obtained Masters degree in Hindi from the same university and presently following classes for her PhD in Hindi language from the same university.
