Liberals and Nationals host trade and investment roundtable
Today, the Victorian Liberal and Nationals’ economic team held a trade and investment roundtable, hosting representatives from a number of Victoria’s most significant trading partners, business chambers and industry figures.
The meeting centred on the strengths of Victoria’s economy and how we can make Victoria a better place to do business.
It follows another roundtable with several key trading countries held earlier this year, which looked at Victoria’s commitment to developing strong trade relationships, enhancing the
state’s economic prosperity, creating high value jobs and collaborating in areas of international importance.
Shadow Minister for Trade and Investment, David Southwick, said: “While Victoria is
Australia’s second largest economy, there is room for improvement and greater collaboration across all sectors and industries.
“This meeting is one of a series we will hold to determine how best we can grow trade and investment here in Victoria, eliminate red tape, reduce taxes, and what bold ideas we can support.
“The Liberals and Nationals know that only through stakeholder engagement and working with businesses can we enhance Victoria’s prosperity and improve the standard of living for millions of Victorians.”
