Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Professor Arusha Cooray presents credentials to President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Professor Arusha Cooray, the newly appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates, officially presented her credentials to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, during a formal ceremony held on 10 July 2025 at Qasr Al Watan, the presidential palace in Abu Dhabi.
The event also saw the participation of five other newly designated Ambassadors representing the Republic of Belarus, Republic of Ecuador, Slovak Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan, and Republic of Honduras, who similarly presented their credentials.
The ceremony was attended by senior Emirati officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Courts, as well as His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In his address, President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warmly welcomed the new diplomatic representatives and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting their missions. He expressed the nation’s intent to work closely with each Ambassador to enhance and strengthen bilateral ties across political, economic, and cultural domains.
