It was an absolute pleasure to be among family and friends who gathered at uncle Ralph Speck’s 90th birthday celebration in Keysborough. Uncle Ralph is a special gentleman, loved by many for his wit, intelligence and sharp informed mind that can debate or discuss most contentious matters happening in the world from decades ago until today.
Remarkable indeed for a man, four score and ten, and there’s no sign of it wavering anytime soon, God bless him. Home is where the heart is, is the old adage, and in true tradition, the family decided to celebrate his important milestone at eldest daughter Jennifer and Gerard Livera’s home with a few family and friends close to him. Uncle Ralph received special blessings before the party at St Anthony’s Church in Noble Park by Fr. Brian Collins.
A ‘Hopper night’ with a range of delectable accompaniments made it an enjoyable celebration as Uncle Ralph, bursting with pride of accomplishment, took in his special evening surrounded by his kids, grandkids and great grandkids, all who absolutely adore him. There’s no doubting that all gathered and those who know him are rooting for him to make a dash for the coveted century. With God’s grace he will get there.
