Veteran Journalist Ravi’s funeral today

The funeral of veteran journalist Ravi Ladduwahetty will be held at 2.30 pm today (17) at Borella Cemetery new crematorium. His remains lie at Lotus Parlour of Jayaratne Funeral Directors, Borella.

Ravi Ladduwahetty was a proud product of Trinity College, Kandy. He began his career in the media field as a staff journalist of Upali Newspapers ( Pvt) Ltd in 1995. He worked for ‘The Island’ Newspaper reporting news related to the President, Cabinet, Parliament, Business and Sports.

He joined Lake House in 1998 and worked as a Staff journalist for the Daily News. In December 2003 he joined the Daily Mirror newspaper of the Wijeya Newspapers Ltd. He moved to Rivira Media Corporation (Pvt) Ltd in 2006. Thereafter, he took up a new role as Corporate Communications Manager at Radiant Gems International PLC where he worked for more than three years before been appointed Sri Lanka Bureau Chief of the Asian Tribune. He re-joined the Island Newspapers in 2011 and worked as Features Editor for two years.

In 2013, he joined the Ceylon Today published by the Ceylon Newspapers Pvt Ltd where he began to work as an Editor- Special Assignments. After a successful three year career at the same organization he became a Night Editor. In 2018, he retired from his professional career and started working in various reputed news media organization and started his self employed business as a Media Relations Consultant, Freelance Journalist and Blog Writer.

With a media career spanning 37 years, he sadly left his beloved family and friends on Wednesday (14).

May he attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbana
