Lyceum Kurunegala and Boyagane School Successfully Organized Collaborative Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebrations, Uniting International and National Education Systems”.

Lyceum International School, Kurunegala, in collaboration with Boyagane School, successfully organised a Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration on Sunday, 2nd April 2023. This event was the first of its kind, where an international school collaborated with a national school.

The event was filled with meaningful Sinhala and Tamil New Year traditions, providing a new experience for all who participated. The Zonal Education Director, Mrs. J.A.M.D Jayathilake graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Divisional Education Director of Kurunegala, Mrs. Vipuli Vidanapathirana, was also present as the Guest of Honour.

The Zonal Education Director highly appreciated the collaborative efforts of both schools towards organising such a wonderful event and encouraged them to continue with future collaborations as well. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of such collaborations between schools from different education systems, as it helps promote unity and understanding among diverse communities.

The Principals, academic staff, and students of both schools thoroughly enjoyed the day, participating in traditional games and activities that are an integral part of Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations. The event served as a great opportunity for students from both schools to interact and learn from each other’s traditions.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, and both Lyceum International School, Kurunegala and Boyagane School look forward to future collaborations that will enhance the educational experiences for their students.
