Russia’s foreign minister Lavrov responds here to their strange request by condemnjng Arab states for their hypocrisy. All Arab states from Jordan to Oman said they would not allow the US and Israel to use their bases or their airspace to wage war on Iran, but they all did. Not one of them condemned the US and Israel for starting this war, which has had a catastrophic impact on West Asia, especially the Gulf States, and now the world. Their leaders act are in shock and disbelief that their countries have been bombed, and their economies destroyed. What did they expect? A free ride? Or that the US and Israel would protect them? These countries will very likely never recover. Lavrov’s response was correct, also calling for a unified call to stop the war, but I doubt the Gulf states are listening.
We know Israel has suffered significant damage from Iranian kamikaze drones. This is because Ukraine has just agreed to a request, from the US and Israel, to send to israel military specialists with experience in drone warfare, the skills the Ukrainians have developed in countering drones used against them by Russia. Israel and the US lack expertise in drone warfare. Why would Israel and the US make such a request if Iranian drones were not having such a significant impact on Israel and the Gulf states?
Plumes of smoke rise following reported explosions in Tehran on March 2, 2026, after the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran on February 28 that killed Iran’s supreme leader and top military leaders, prompting retaliatory strikes on Israel and across the Gulf.
