To The STC DSA Era Group,

It is with deep sadness we note the passing away of Nimalka Wijesuriya.

He was a School Prefect, Vice Captain of the 1st X1 cricket team 1970 & Captain,  Under 14 cricket team 1964.

An unforgettable character and a very dear friend who will be missed but will be dearly remembered at all Thomian gatherings.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the bereaved family members, brothers Manilka, Neomal and Rukmal.

Whilst we mourn his passing, may his gental soul rest in Peace.

With kind regards,

Sriyan

All my/our dear friends:

It is with a HEAVY heart that I inform you that Nimi passed away very peacefully today May 18th around 7:00 AM, in Santa Fe. Please forward this email to those who knew and loved him so much. I picture him smiling down at me, his mischievous smile and his telling of the various jokes.

Early this morning, he awoke, made smoothies and called out to Suchinta to say he was feeling dizzy. Went to the toilet, threw up and was disorientated. The staff at the home, were called and helped him in to his bed. He passed away on their bed. Of course, as you are all aware, he recovered from a Traumatic Brain Injury and suffered from/with heavy brain bleeding. Perhaps this recurred, what do the details matter??

I know that you will each of you, be discriminate in calling the immediate family at this point in time.  I grieve and will continue to do so. But to every life, an ending is a given. Cry with me if you must. Let’s recall all of his antics and laugh awhile too. As I said in a letter on his 70th birthday, we were blessed with his birth into our family. Please feel free to call me, if you are so driven.

Funeral arrangements are yet in process, but Suchinta, Ruvan, Saman, and Todd, will wait for me to get there. I am traveling on Friday the 20th, and will arrive in Santa Fe, by about 2:00 PM. Please feel free to call me, if you are so driven. I am on WhatsApp.

Be blessed, each of you, we were blessed, and will continue to carry with us, the blessings that he brought to each of us.

Manilka
