SUNDAY CHOICE

SUNDAY CHOICE

Last Sunday on the 23rd of May 2021 my nephew Jerome Rulach went to be with the Lord. He was ailing for sometime and God in His Mercy took him into His loving care.

Death is certain. We all have got to face it some day. But, we as Christians believe in life after death and in the promises of God when he assured us in these words:-

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you where I am you may be also. John 14:2

He will swallow up death in victory: and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, …Isaiah 25:8

Blessed are the dead, which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13

And then Hebrew saying: –Say not in grief ‘he is no more’, but live in thankfulness that he was.

What wonderful words of comfort, assurance and hope.

In an article “WHY SHOULD WE FEAR DEATH” (Author Unknown) it states—“Death like birth is a personal thing, yet the indisputable fact remains, each of us die a little everyday. Some peaceably. Some horridly, some suddenly, some victims of others, some on purpose and some by accident. After all when one look at death there is God or there is nothing. Easter makes a positive statement that there is a God.

Lyn Helton who died of cancer at the age of 20, holding her husband’s hand said  “ I am not afraid to die—look after my baby.

Paul Standish died at the age of seventeen. He said “Life is no longer a battle” He told his story of how he was facing death so that others may face it head on. He did just that; He died calmly and with serenity convinced he was going to heaven.”

Closer to my heart, my brother Milton who died of Tetanus in Ceylon at the age of 21 holding my late Dad’s hand said “ you are a good daddy, I am too young to die. Jesus wants me and I must go”

Lets hope when we close our eyes we will be able to say—“ In my hand no price I bring, simply to thy cross I cling”

This song is dedicated to Jerome and to all those gone before us. Hope it will be a blessing to you.

You are welcome to pass this on.
